About The Position

Operates a company-owned vehicle (single axle, under 26,000 GVW, non-commercial license) on delivery routing, typically within a 150-mile radius of Cheyenne. Familiarity and understanding of maps and driving directions are required. Responsible for loading of truck in cooperation with warehousemen, handling of delivery paperwork requirements, and cooperation with customers at job sites; responsible for safe operation of truck, including tying down the load and adherence to all traffic laws. Position requires heavy lifting of 50 lbs. Performs one or more tasks to modify hollow metal doors and fabricate hollow metal frames as specified in a fabrication report, including undersizing in height and width, changing hinge locations, modifying or changing lock prep or location, glass light cutouts, and face-hole prep. This work is performed with various power hand tools and welding equipment. Finished doors are re-primed with water-based primer paint. Will train. Essential Functions: Attendance and punctuality Ability to safely operate single-axle, under 26,000 GVW trucks and understand all features of the trucks Able to pass DOT medical physical for certification Understands defensive driving between commercial vehicles and every-day vehicles Able to safely lift 80-100 lbs. with helper Able to read maps and follow driving directions Adherence to all traffic laws and regulations Handling of delivery paperwork requirements Cooperation with customers at job sites Keeping truck properly maintained Familiarity with safe use of power hand tools for cutting and boring metal, priming and painting Welding skills Knowledge and understanding of fabrication orders, templates, and elevations Knowledge of door and frame handing, door and frame components, and application of parts Knowledge of procedure for checking profile height and width, tacking, squaring, and welding Knowledge of tolerances for cuts and hardware locations Knowledge of how to read a tape measure Understanding of CURRIES code charts Ability to perform job in a safe and professional manner Qualifications Clean MVR DOT medical certification Good eyesight with corrective lenses Ability to identify products and handle products safety and correctly Complete vehicle inspection report daily and driver daily trip log Ability to drive forklift Ability to use regular pallet jacks and keep trucks clean and organized (inside and out) Knowledge and understanding fabrication orders, templates, and elevations Knowledge of how to read a tape measure Knowledge of door and frame handing, door and frame components, and application of parts Knowledge of procedure for checking profile height and width, tacking, squaring, and welding Welding skills Application of lead to frames Familiarity with power hand tools for cutting and boring metal, priming and painting Familiarity with the safe use of power hand tools, including welder, grinder, dual-action sander, palm sander, paint gun, drills, screw gun, jig saw, sawzall, die grinder, drill press, band saw, Dewalt metal cutting saw, chop saw, plasma torch, and punches Understanding of CURRIES code charts Lifting doors off pallets and using door cart to transport doors to shop Lifting parts off shelves and placing them on carts for transportation to shop Carrying frames (approx. 30 feet) Flipping doors and frames Placing parts on table and marking Punching parts with various saws Cutting or drilling preps in doors Welding in reinforcements Repetitive movements, including slipping welding hood up and down, sawing, clamping corners, lifting, and bending over work Ability to tolerate smoke and fumes from welder and paint Ability to be on feet all day Ability to bend and kneel Ability to lift 50 lbs.
