We currently have an opening for a Driver Helper in Carteret, NJ.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs repeatedly and work in physically demanding environments
- Understanding of basic freight handling and safety practices
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely around large vehicles and equipment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work long shifts
Responsibilities
- Assisting the driver with loading and unloading freight, including heavy or bulky items
- Helping secure loads to ensure DOT-compliant load safety
- Providing guidance during backing, parking, and tight maneuvering to maintain safety
- Handling paperwork, delivery receipts, load manifests, and verify item counts
- Communicating with dispatch and customers as needed to support the driver
- Ensuring cargo is properly staged and organized for efficient delivery
- Operating pallet jacks, dollies, or lift gates (if applicable)
- Following all company safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and DOT regulations
- Supporting the driver in resolving delivery issues, customer concerns, or access challenges
