About The Position

Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscience Driver Helper to join our growing team in Pontotoc, MS. This role involves operating on and around a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste, reading route sheets, and servicing each customer. The job requires performing a physically demanding role, including loading and unloading, and operating hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities. The Driver Helper will also interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
• Ability to perform physical duties of the position.
• Ability to perform physically demanding job, loading and unloading.
• Ability to safely operate on and around a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
• Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
