About The Position

The Driver Helper assists the driver with daily delivery and operational activities, including loading and unloading trucks, handling and verifying freight, supporting route execution, and completing other duties needed to provide safe and efficient service. The role also performs warehouse material-handling activities and provides professional customer service. The schedule is Monday through Friday, four 10-hour days, rotating so team members receive one weekday off. Overtime and flexible schedules may be required.

Requirements

Ability to read maps and maintain general geographic awareness.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules when required.
Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment as required.

Responsibilities

Accurately load and secure freight for daily delivery routes.
Scan and verify all route freight before departure.
Assist drivers with route navigation and delivery coordination.
Help transport freight to customer business and residential locations.
Pull, stage, load, and unload freight using manifests and established operating procedures.
Perform material-handling duties, including picking, packing, scanning, kitting, and inventory counts.
Identify and report overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D).
Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, when trained and authorized.
Follow detailed work instructions in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain compliance with TSA, OSHA, company safety requirements, applicable DOT requirements, and customer-site rules.
Provide professional customer service and perform additional duties as assigned.
Immediately report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, equipment damage, cargo damage, and regulatory concerns.
