About The Position

Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscience Driver Helper to join our growing team. The Driver Helper will be responsible for safely operating on and around a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste. This role requires the ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher. The Driver Helper will perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading refuse and operating hydraulic hand controls to dispose of trash at designated facilities. This position also involves courteous interaction with customers and performing other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed, and involves a 50+ hour work week.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
Ability to perform physical duties of the position.
Ability to safely operate on and around a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
