About The Position

Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscience Driver Helper to join our growing team in Selmer, TN. This role involves safely operating on and around a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste. The Driver Helper will read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher. This is a physically demanding job that requires loading and unloading, and operating hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities. The position also requires courteous interaction with customers and performing other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to safely operate on and around a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
• Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading.
• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
• Courteous interaction with our customers.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
• Ability to perform physical duties of the position.
