About The Position

This position involves driving a roll-off truck to haul scrap metal, inspecting and grading metal for inventory, performing daily DOT inspections, communicating with the office and customers, and working independently or with other employees to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. The role also includes performing daily maintenance on the truck and cleaning the work area.

Requirements

• Must pass medical physical and drug test
• Must pass background check
• Ability to communicate with others effectively
• Ability to understand direction (written or oral)
• Ability to use basic math skills as job demands

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma/GED
• Previous experience operating wheel loader

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks hauling scrap metal
• Inspect and determine metal grade for inventory tracking
• Perform DOT daily operation and safety inspection
• Communicate with office and customers to determine commodities load
• Works independently when driving scrap metal
• Works with customers to satisfy their needs and assist them when problems arise
• Work with other employees in scrap metal yard to ensure a safe working environment
• Perform daily operation maintenance: refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning and housekeeping
• Clean up work area at end of shift
