About The Position

Freeman Herbs is looking for a motivated, detail oriented, and driven candidate to fill our Seasonal G Driver position. As a Seasonal G Driver, you will operate our 26ft straight truck, while acting as an ambassador for Freeman Herbs by delivering our herbs and vegetables with care and providing exceptional customer service to our clients. You will ensure legal compliance and follow all rules of the law while operating the company vehicle. This is a seasonal position during the months of April 2026 and May 2026

Requirements

  • Valid G driver’s license
  • Clean driver’s abstract
  • A minimum of 1 year commercial driving experience
  • Previous experience driving experience, driving a 26 ft straight truck
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A high degree of flexibility and patience
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed during peak season
  • Ability to push and pull heavy garden center racks
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of roads and routes within the Niagara region and Ontario, an asset

Responsibilities

  • Deliver product throughout Ontario
  • Use the lift gate on the truck, to unload garden center racks and secure load(s)
  • Deliver deliveries across Ontario, as required
  • Ensure proper paperwork is provided to the customer and obtain necessary signatures
  • Collect proof of delivery paperwork (POD’s)
  • Interact with staff and customers in a positive and friendly manner.
  • Keep the trucks clean and fueled up after every trip.
  • Collect empty grower racks from retailers
  • Ensure legal compliance while operating the company vehicle ensuring that proper MTO paperwork is filled out
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections on the company vehicle and report any findings to Senior Logistics Coordinator
  • Take into account possible road construction, traffic congestion, and difficult weather conditions, to ensure that deliveries are made on time
  • Notify Logistics department of any delivery issues, damage to plant material, and vehicle breakdowns
  • Use gas cards loaned to you, properly and within the set guidelines.
  • Drivers are expected to drive within posted speed limits (such as reduced speeds within school zones), obey traffic regulations, and ensure that hand held devices are not operated while driving.
  • Comply with road safety regulations and laws
  • Other duties as assigned
