About The Position

Could your driving skills help deliver hope by connecting food donations to those who need them most? The Driver is responsible for driving the truck to pick up food donations for the kitchen. This is a casual contract. The starting range for this position is $21.61 to $23.61 per hour.

Requirements

Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Clean driver’s abstract.
Food safe certification.
Basic English skills (verbal, reading and writing).
Candidate is subject to a criminal record check.

Responsibilities

Drive the truck daily to stores and houses to pick up food donations as directed by the Kitchen Manager. Follows established route, but plans other routes as required.
Drive in a courteous and safe manner. Serve donors with promptness and punctuality. Interact with donors in a courteous, respectful, and gracious way that represents UGM well.
Sign pick up sheets and invoices when required.
Load, unload, and sort donations.
Clean the truck.
Responsible for the security of the truck.
Inform Maintenance Manager and Kitchen Manager when truck maintenance is required.
Use the gas card to fill the truck with gas when needed. Submit gas receipts to the Kitchen Manager.
Adhere to all UGM published policies, practices and procedures, including Occupational Health and Safety.
Perform other duties as assigned.
