About The Position

This position is responsible for the food pantry donation pickups and setting up for the Breakfast feeding program and other feeding programs as needed. It also helps maintain a consistent state of cleanliness and organization of the food pantry, keeping accurate donation inventory and maintaining the Salvation Army vehicle.

Requirements

Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to drive and obey all traffic laws.
Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, lifting, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Moderate amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light to moderately heavy objects (up to 35 lbs.) frequently.
High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred, or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Valid Driver’s License.
Clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Picks up food and other donations from various vendors.
Assists with food programs such as community Breakfast, food pantry, and pop-up feeding events.
Weighs all food pickups and record data to logs.
Fuels vehicle in accordance with state gasoline regulations and The Salvation Army standards.
Schedules routine maintenance of The Salvation Army vehicle to ensure safety of passengers and long life of vehicle.
