Driver/ Fabrication Technician
About The Position
McCarty Equipment, a SunSource company, is a value-added distributor and fabricator of hose with 17 locations across North America. They provide a wide range of industrial and MRO supplies including hose, valves, gaskets, fittings, tools, hand tools, fasteners, and consumables, and also offer factory-authorized tool repair. The Driver/ Fabrication Technician will operate a company vehicle for customer deliveries, load and unload trucks, verify parts, obtain signatures, and return items to the branch. This role also involves assisting warehouse employees, participating in inventory counts, cleaning equipment and shop areas, and engaging in lean activities and safety regulations. Fabrication duties include operating gasket presses, circle cutters, allpax cutters, shears, and punch presses. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the hose area with banding and crimping, assisting in the mechanical seal department with disassembly, cleaning, bead blasting, and shipping/receiving, and assisting with shipping, packing, receiving, and building crates. Forklift operation is also required upon certification.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent (GED) required.
- Must be able to use a tape measure.
- Must understand basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Nice To Haves
- 1 year industrial shop experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate a Company vehicle to deliver product to customers.
- Manually load and unload the delivery truck.
- Verify that all parts are loaded and unloaded.
- Obtain signatures from receiving locations confirming accuracy of parts received.
- Deliver returned items back to the branch.
- Assist warehouse employees in preparing items for delivery, including packing products and sorting delivery items by route.
- Participate in counting inventory for cycle counts and maintain stock (i.e., tag, stack, sort, keep organized).
- Clean equipment and all shop areas.
- Participate in lean activity and safety regulations.
- Deliver and unload product at customer facility using appropriate tools, ensure all product is courteously delivered.
- Operate soft gasket press, circle cutter, allpax cutter, and shears.
- Paint gaskets or use a punch press machine with dies to cut soft gaskets.
- Assist hose area with basic duties such as hose banding and crimping, roll, cut or test hoses.
- Assist in the hydro or hydraulic hose area.
- Assist in mechanical seal department, disassembly of mechanical seals, cleaning, bead blasting of components, and receive, pack and ship mechanical seals and component.
- Assist shipping to ship, pack, receive items and build crates.
- Operate forklift upon certification.
- Use tape measure regularly.
- Any other duties as assigned.
