About The Position

Over the Road Driver (DOT - CDL) - Class A. This position is located at our distribution center at 1225 Mid Valley Dr, Jessup, PA 18434. We are hiring energetic, team-oriented individuals to join our transportation team. As a Full-time Driver (DOT - CDL) - Class A, you will represent our fleet by delivering to and from Fastenal Distribution Centers, branches, and customer on-site locations. You will operate a safe, well-maintained, and late-model tractor-trailer or straight truck. Delivery trucks are pre-loaded by warehouse employees prior to departure, and most routes average 1-2 stops. We offer established routes that may change periodically based on company needs. Requirements

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Possess or are currently in progress of obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver's License
Possess a current Health Card OR have the ability to obtain one
Possess a current Haz Mat endorsement OR have the ability to obtain one (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
Meet Fastenal driving record requirements
Demonstrate strong working knowledge of the DOT regulations in regards to a CDL Driver
Maintain DOT regulated Drivers Hours-of-Service
Willingness to travel
Willingness to drive interstate routes across state lines
Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
Lift up to 60 lbs. and maneuver up to 150lbs.
Successfully complete the required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification and background check

Prior experience operating a forklift

Responsibilities

Providing excellent service to our branches and customers by delivering product in a prompt, efficient manner
Utilizing a handheld scanner
Unloading product from trucks by hand, pallet jack, or by forklift
Interacting with our shipping and receiving departments
Maintaining a clean work environment within our equipment
Inspecting and reporting defects or issues in equipment
Complying with DOT and Fastenal safety regulations
Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings
