About The Position

Fastenal is hiring a full-time Class A Driver (DOT - CDL) for its transportation team in Manassas, Virginia. The driver represents Fastenal's fleet while delivering from distribution centers to branches and customer on-site locations. The role operates a well-maintained, late-model tractor-trailer or straight truck on established routes that may change periodically according to company needs. Trucks are preloaded by warehouse employees, and the driver unloads freight at each stop; most routes average 10–12 stops.

Requirements

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Possess or be in the process of obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
Possess a current Health Card or be able to obtain one.
Possess a current Haz Mat endorsement or be able to obtain one (applicable in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam only).
Meet Fastenal driving record requirements.
Demonstrate strong working knowledge of DOT regulations for CDL drivers.
Maintain DOT-regulated Drivers Hours-of-Service.
Be willing to drive interstate routes across state lines.
Demonstrate ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Lift up to 60 pounds and maneuver up to 150 pounds.
Successfully complete required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification, and background check.
Pass a background check required by a customer or contract serviced by this location.

Nice To Haves

Prior driving work experience.
Prior experience operating a forklift.

Responsibilities

Use a handheld scanner.
Unload products from trucks by hand, pallet jack, or forklift.
Deliver products promptly and efficiently while providing excellent service to branches and customers.
Interact with shipping and receiving departments.
Maintain a clean work environment within the equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
Inspect equipment and report defects or issues.
Comply with DOT and Fastenal safety regulations and health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations.
Participate in activities and programs that support the company's health, safety, and sustainability objectives.
Learn, pass, and practice environmental health and safety trainings.
