About The Position

The Driver – Relief Combo CDL LC provides relief across all modes of delivery, Small Store, Full Service & Large Store routes. The responsibilities are dependent on the route assigned. This role requires a high degree of flexibility to cover open needs of the driver team and involves working with handheld devices, accurate accounting for cases and customer transactions, and ensuring proper care of product and equipment. The driver will work in partnership with the Sales Supervisor to execute the picture of success, establish positive customer relationships, provide superior customer service, and communicate store-level issues to management. Compliance with DOT rules for driving is essential. The role also involves assisting with training and coaching delivery merchandiser trainees.

Requirements

  • Minimum age 21 years old.
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet.
  • The ability to maintain DOT physical requirements.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies.
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets.
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively in fast – paced environment.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6-12 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Must be able to operate a manual or motorized pallet jack.

Responsibilities

  • Provide relief across all modes of delivery: Small Store, Full Service & Large Store routes.

  • Responsible for merchandising product inside the outlet to company standards (Small Store Relief).
  • Sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays (Small Store Relief).
  • Keeps coolers, racks, and shelves clean (Small Store Relief).
  • Maintains backstock in an organized manner (Small Store Relief).
  • Deliver, rotate, and merchandise product on shelf, displays and all cold equipment (Small Store Relief).
  • Transport and unload products to customers (Large Store Relief).
  • Relieve in the absence of the Full – Service Delivery Merchandiser in performing all the daily duties of filling, servicing, and cleaning machines on assigned route, and utilizing handheld computer to generate accurate sales of each machine and record all money collected (Large Store Relief).
  • Ensures that each vendor is maintained with proper brands, maximizing productivity for space to sell ratio (Full Service).
  • Keeps accurate accounting for all daily money, cases, consignment, and unit transactions (Full Service).
  • Maintain the coin mech/change dispenser at every fill, adjust and clean mechanism to ensure proper working as needed (Full Service).
  • Completes end of the day settlement and paperwork (Full Service).
  • Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management.
