About The Position

Primary responsibility is to drive a heavy truck at an excess capacity of more than three (3) tons; to specified destinations and locations. This role requires a CDL Class A license and a clean driving record. The position involves maintaining truck logs, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations. The driver will also be responsible for customer interactions, reporting accidents, and working collaboratively with all departments.

Requirements

CDL Class A license
Clean driving record
A minimum of two years long distance driving experience.
High skill level driving heavy trucks.
Highly detail oriented and organized in work.
Acceptable written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a customer service focus with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
Must have initiative and the ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
Must possess a strong desire to learn

Responsibilities

Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
Drives trucks or equipment to assigned location.
Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive instructions.
Cleans inside of truck.
Performs routine maintenance on trucks or equipment.
Must have a working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and practice them.
When assigned, will open a work order so time may be charged out to assigning department.
Reports accidents to HR immediately, obtaining names, license numbers and other details.
Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery of vehicle or equipment.
Must work with and for all departments in harmony.
