About The Position

Devil Mountain Wholesale Nursery is seeking a professional Class A Customer Delivery Driver to transport plant material to customer job sites and between Devil Mountain nursery locations using semi-trucks and trailers. This role is responsible for safe vehicle operation, secure load transport, and reliable execution of both customer deliveries and inter-site transfer routes. Drivers may operate designated loop routes between nursery locations, transfer plant material between sites, or meet at central locations to swap trailers with other Devil Mountain drivers. The Class A Driver represents the company on the road and at customer locations. Success in this role requires strong safety awareness, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to protecting plant quality throughout transport.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
  • Ability to qualify under company auto insurance standards
  • Strong safety record and defensive driving practices
  • Ability to secure loads and manage weight requirements
  • Customer service mindset and professional communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of plant identification and plant handling practices to help ensure plant quality during loading, transport, and delivery.
  • Experience delivering to construction or residential job sites
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Willingness to obtain crane certification (if requested)

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections and report maintenance concerns immediately
  • Safely attach and detach loaded trailers
  • Ensure loads are properly secured and weight requirements are met
  • Deliver plant material to customers at business, residential, and construction sites
  • Transport and transfer inventory between Devil Mountain nursery locations
  • Communicate estimated arrival times and maintain professional customer interactions
  • Assist with loading and unloading plant materials as needed
  • Perform minor roadside repairs if necessary (e.g., air line issues)
  • Complete overnight deliveries when required
  • Follow all company safety standards and Fleet Policy requirements
