About The Position

The customer-oriented Driver – Class A CDL to support our warehouse and logistics operations. This position is responsible for transporting building materials to customer locations while ensuring timely deliveries, regulatory compliance, and professional representation of the company. The ideal candidate maintains a strong commitment to safety, demonstrates reliability and professionalism, and takes pride in delivering materials accurately and efficiently in support of our customers and project schedules.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Class A CDL driver, preferably within the building materials or construction supply industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DOT regulations and commercial vehicle safety standards.
  • Ability to safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in varied road and weather conditions.
  • Understanding of load securement and safe material handling procedures.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet delivery schedules.
  • Effective communication skills for coordination with internal teams and customers.
  • Ability to complete required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Candidates must be able to: Sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull heavy building materials, frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.
  • Climb in and out of truck cabs and onto trailers.
  • Reach, bend, stoop, and secure loads as required.
  • Operate forklifts or other loading equipment as needed.
  • Maintain visual and auditory acuity necessary for safe vehicle operation.
  • Work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to established procedures.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused for extended driving periods.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to address delivery challenges or route adjustments.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Professionalism and composure when interacting with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage job-related stress associated with road travel and delivery schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift, Moffett, or other material handling equipment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport building materials to designated customer and company locations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials in accordance with company schedules and assigned routes.
  • Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, roadworthiness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper handling, securement, and storage.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including delivery confirmations, mileage logs, fuel usage, and required DOT records.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during all delivery interactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and routine care of assigned equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
