About The Position
Join our school nutrition team as a Delivery Driver and play a vital role in ensuring students receive the meals they need to learn and thrive! This role involves safely driving a company vehicle to deliver food and supplies between schools in the district, loading and unloading products with care, performing daily vehicle inspections, and maintaining accurate logs and reports. The ideal candidate will keep the delivery vehicle clean and in excellent working condition, communicate with the central office as needed, and follow all local driving laws and school district policies. This is a mission-driven role supporting school meals that power learning every day, offering independent work with supportive team connections.
Requirements
- A clean, valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
- Dependability and strong attention to detail
- Comfort with lifting and moving supplies
- A proactive attitude and willingness to follow safety guidelines
- Professionalism when interacting at school sites
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience required
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English sufficient to understand route instructions, complete required logs and reports, and communicate with school and office staff.
- Must adhere to all motor vehicle laws and regulations at all times; always presents a professional image and follows all Whitsons policies and procedures.
Nice To Haves
- food service or delivery driving experience preferred
- ServSafe certification preferred
