About The Position

The Driver and Warehouse Associate is responsible for the daily distribution of products to OFS's network of community food partners, making daily donation pickups, and delivering products to and from organizations. This role ensures all products are stored appropriately, distributed safely and efficiently, and involves collecting data on outgoing product. Outside of distribution, the associate will assist the Warehouse Manager in maintaining a clean work environment and efficient operations. Key responsibilities include operating a box truck with a liftgate and reefer, loading/unloading donations, ensuring vehicle cleanliness, managing warehouse operations for safety and efficiency, receiving and distributing products promptly, monitoring inventory, assisting with warehouse cleanliness, and supporting volunteer group setups. The role also involves sorting donations for quality, inspecting inventory for expired products, and reporting expiration dates to the Inventory Team. Additionally, the associate will supervise distribution-area volunteer activities and support activities in the volunteer center. Other driver and warehouse duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment with a focus on safety.
  • Class E license required.
  • Must be able to show no license revocation, suspension, DUI/DWI, careless or reckless driving history.
  • Ability to connect with diverse types of organizations: schools, businesses, government, faith organizations, etc.
  • Ability to be on one’s feet for 4 plus hours a day.
  • Ability to lift 20-50 pounds.
  • Safely operates pallet jack and liftgate on truck.
  • Food storage warehouse and walk-in cooler & freezer with mobile equipment in operation.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Current forklift certification.
  • Class B license or greater with air brake endorsement required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate small box truck with liftgate and reefer.
  • Loading and unloading donation pickups and drop-offs w/pallet jack when needed.
  • Ensure all vehicles are clean at the end of each day.
  • Direct warehouse operations and ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Ensure product is received and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor organization inventory of food and other in-kind donations.
  • Assist in keeping the warehouse clean.
  • Assist with volunteer center set up and break down for volunteer groups.
  • Sorting donations to ensure quality. This includes inspecting inventory daily to make sure expired product is not distributed.
  • Report Expiration/Best By/Sell By/Freeze By dates to Inventory Team on incoming donations.
  • Supervision of distribution-area volunteer activities.
  • Support volunteer activities in the volunteer center.
  • Other driver and warehouse duties as assigned.
