About The Position

Responsible to the Donation Center and Thrift Manager and Boutique Supervisor. Driver and Warehouse Associate will be responsible for driving the truck and picking up merchandise, responsible for overseeing the hard goods donation system inventory, including distribution of materials and supplies through the Agency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Previous work related skill, knowledge, and/or experience in sales/inventory/relationship management.
  • FCADV Competency-Based Core training plus an additional 6 hours of individualized training (30 hours total) to qualify for privilege status; must successfully pass written test.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with at least two years driving experience, active automobile insurance and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a Level II background check
  • Must have ability to lead with confidence and minimal supervision.
  • Requires good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must have an understanding of domestic violence issues.
  • Discretion in dealing with confidential material, flexibility and tolerance for others is required.
  • High ethical and professional standards, sound judgement and ability to function independently are required.
  • Must be able to work harmoniously with donors, shoppers, participants, volunteers, and staff.
  • Occasionally requires an immediate response to an email, text or phone message; will require day and weekend hours.
  • Employee must have ability and desire to function as part of a team, yet work with a high degree of autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service.
  • Greet customers/donors in a friendly manner at all times.
  • Ensures warehouse and thrift store is maintained in a clean, orderly, and visually attractive manner in compliance with Six Sigma 5s policy.
  • Schedules and coordinates the truck activities.
  • Drives the Spring’s truck to destinations and picks up donated item. Unloads articles at warehouse location or a Spring facility as directed by management.
  • Maintains truck log by completing the Inspection form weekly.
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil , and water prior to leaving facility.
  • Advise supervisor if servicing is required. May perform Emergency Roadside repairs.
  • Accept and sort donated items for survivor use, thrift sales, and bulk resale items incompliance with 5s.
  • Price merchandise.
  • Perform Warehouse and Thrift store opening and closing procedures.
  • Respond effectively to changing demands.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Problem solver.
  • Carry merchandise into the stores and stocking shelves.
  • Work harmoniously with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Check and respond to phone or email messages daily.
  • Requires working on Tuesday – Saturdays from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Hours and days may be adjusted based on store and donor’s needs.
  • Ability/willingness to perform other positions within the donation center, boutique and thrift operation.
  • Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
