Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience
36 months experience as a prerequisite for selection for commercial vehicle drivers
24 months of relevant driving experience within the previous 5 years with equipment of similar size and type to that which the driver will be operating
No incidents equivalent to a "preventable" level 1 or 2 vehicle incident in the last 24 months
Road test to verify the defensive and safe driving skills of commercial vehicle drivers
Medical confirmation of fitness for commercial vehicle drivers
Mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of compressed gases and safe gas handling
Valid DZ/Class 3 or AZ/Class 1 (as applicable) driver's license with air brake endorsement
Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance
Knowledge of on-board computer
Ability to use a smart phone

Responsibilities

Deliver high-pressure cylinders, liquid gas containers and industrial non-gas products to customers.
Load and unload cylinders, count and record cylinder quantities and styles of each product to verify that the load matches the shipping documents.
Ensure load identification plates comply with TDG regulations.
Complete all shipping documents.
Produce end-of-tour, fuel expense and other requested reports.
Perform pre-trip and return vehicle inspections, and report/explain defects to supervisor.
Ensure that vehicles are in good working order, have them repaired or overhauled, and keep downtime to a minimum.
