About The Position

Cape Cod Lumber, an employee-owned company, is looking for Drive-thru/Warehouse Customer Service team members. This individual will assist customers in our drive-thru lumber yard, locating and loading lumber & building materials onto the customer’s vehicle. He/She will also assist in keeping areas stocked, safe, and clean. The role also involves servicing customers, storing material and product in their area of responsibility, and maintaining a clean and safe workplace, always keeping the customer’s needs in mind and maximizing company profitability. Duties include greeting and serving customers promptly and courteously, marking customer slips for accuracy, acting as a backup gate guard, marking materials, opening lifts, crates, and containers, storing materials safely, using a computer to check inventory, and maintaining a high level of organization and housekeeping. Performing duties safely and remaining alert to unsafe working conditions is also essential.

Requirements

Must have moderate mathematical skills for use in tallying and conversions.
Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to work well with and get along with others.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to work outside year-round in a fast-paced environment.
Lifting a minimum of 80 lbs. is required.
Individuals must be positive, upbeat, and possess strong customer service skills.
Accuracy is also a must.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Ability to prioritize work load and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Report to work in a groomed and professional manner.

Nice To Haves

Forklift truck experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist customers in the drive-thru lumber yard, locating and loading lumber & building materials onto the customer’s vehicle.
Assist in keeping areas stocked, safe, and clean.
Service customers, store material and product in their area of responsibility, and maintain a clean and safe workplace.
Greet and wait on customers in a prompt and courteous manner.
Mark customer slips for accuracy of listed items.
Alternate as back-up to gate guard.
Mark materials with identifying information.
Open lifts, crates and other containers.
Store material in a safe and protected manner.
Use computer to check inventory.
Maintain a high level of organization and housekeeping.
Perform duties in a safe manner and remain alert to any unsafe working conditions.
Contribute to any area needed for the betterment of Cape Cod Lumber.
