About The Position

ECI is hiring an experienced, safety-focused Driller for a heavy civil geotechnical project in North Dakota. You'll operate and maintain drilling equipment on a range of scopes, including micropiles, tiebacks, foundation grouting, secant piles, support of excavation, and dewatering systems. This position is based on a North Dakota jobsite. Applicants must be able to work on location in North Dakota for the duration of the project.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Driller, including drilling and anchor installations.
  • Familiarity with cement grouting procedures.
  • Experience maintaining drill equipment and tooling.
  • Working knowledge of dual head and duplex rotary drilling, mud rotary, compressed air drilling systems, and limited access drilling.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of drilling equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Physically fit; able to lift 94 lbs or more, stand and operate machinery for extended periods, and work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be a union member or willing to join; reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

  • Read plans and specs; execute work according to submittal documents and as directed by the foreman or superintendent.
  • Safely and efficiently operate drilling rigs to create holes of varying depths and diameters.
  • Set up equipment: assemble components, connect hoses and pipes, and confirm all safety measures are in place before drilling.
  • Monitor drilling speed, torque, pressure, and rotation, adjusting as needed for best performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Work with engineers and project managers to meet project specifications.
  • Keep accurate records of drilling activity, maintenance, and any incidents.
  • Follow all safety protocols, use PPE correctly (hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots), report hazards, and maintain a clean worksite.
  • Must pass background check, and pre-hire and random drug testing.
