About The Position
Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This role operates roof bolting and drilling equipment to support safe underground quarry operations. The position involves installing roof support systems according to mine plans, safety standards, and procedures. Daily equipment inspections and prompt reporting of maintenance needs are crucial. The Driller/Roof Bolter will work closely with the production team to support safe, efficient material extraction and must follow all safety, environmental, and operational guidelines at all times.
Requirements
- Demonstrated capability to safely operate drilling and roof bolting equipment in an underground environment
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and hazard awareness
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify equipment issues
- Ability to read and follow mine plans, procedures, and safety requirements
- Dependable team‑oriented individual with effective communication skills
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
Responsibilities
- Operate roof bolting and drilling equipment to support safe underground quarry operations
- Install roof support systems according to mine plans, safety standards, and procedures
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Work closely with the production team to support safe, efficient material extraction
- Follow all safety, environmental, and operational guidelines at all times
Benefits
- $28.76 per hour plus an additional $0.50 per hour underground rate
- $2,000 Sign-On Bonus paid out in two installments (6 months and 1 year)
