Driller / Blaster - Mining Industry
About The Position
The Driller / Blaster performs drilling and blasting operations in the open pit quarry at the plant and off-plant locations while supporting explosive handling duties. This role is responsible for meeting daily drilling footage to support production demands. Must complete drill logs and maintain accurate drilling, and blasting records. The Driller also assists with quarry face safety inspection, drill pad prep. Driller blaster reports conditions impacting blast quality, while ensuring compliance with MSHA regulations, safety policies, and environmental procedures. The driller will fill in operating other quarry equipment as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of drilling experience in a mining or similar industrial environment.
- Knowledge of limestone formations, rock characteristics, and quarry operations.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Solid math skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-performance team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Blasting license.
- CDL with hazmat endorsement.
