About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is actively seeking a Driller Assistant to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team. This role offers an opportunity to build a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry within Intertek's Building and Construction division. Intertek-PSI is a prominent US-based provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection services, offering a wide range of services including construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Driller Assistant will support the Driller in various field operations.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
Ability to travel up to 60%
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
Ability to work over night hours and off shift

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent
1 year Driller Helper/Assistant experience
CDL

Responsibilities

Assist the Driller with soil drilling, rock coring, sampling, classifications, in-situ testing, and monitoring well installation.
Assist Driller to load / unload augers and assemble / disassemble augers.
Prepare tooling and supplies for the day’s tasks.
Assist with the location of boring locations.
Retrieve and log samples.
Clean / maintain equipment and perform site clean up.
