About The Position

The Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) Operator / Locator will be responsible for carrying out daily inspections, greasing, fueling, and safe machine operation. This role involves setting up machinery, ensuring ground conditions are safe before drilling/boring, and effectively monitoring equipment operation. The operator will also observe proper loading of equipment on trailers, assist laborers as needed, and perform other duties assigned by the Foreman or Supervisor. Maintaining a safe and clean workspace, including company equipment and vehicles, is crucial. The position requires adherence to all established safety and OSHA rules and regulations, obtaining necessary operator qualifications, and completing daily equipment inspection reports. Any equipment defects must be immediately reported to the Foreman and Superintendent. The operator must follow safe operating instructions within manufacturer specifications and project scope, and attend all required safety meetings and trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Immediately report any defects of the equipment to the Foreman and Superintendent.
  • Follow safe operating instructions that stay within compliance of the manufacturer’s specifications and the scope of the project.
  • Attend all safety meetings and trainings as required by the Company.
