About The Position

EXL is hiring a DRG Trainer & Quality Analyst to serve as the go-to expert for Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) auditors. This role involves mentoring others, analyzing data, and improving processes. The ideal candidate is a seasoned DRG or All Patient Refined Diagnosis Related Groups (APR DRG) auditor who enjoys enhancing the skills of others while ensuring high-quality standards. The position is 100% remote within the U.S. and offers opportunities for professional growth and leadership within a supportive and innovative team focused on improving healthcare outcomes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of DRG and/or APR DRG auditing and training experience
• RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CPC certifications (required)
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Deep knowledge of DRG audit processes and compliance standards
• Experience coaching others and developing training materials
• Organized, detail-oriented, and great at giving feedback that makes a difference

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor new and experienced DRG auditors
• Build easy-to-follow training materials, guides, and online modules
• Review audits for accuracy, provide helpful feedback, and coach coders
• Spot trends, analyze root causes, and improve overall coding quality
• Help shape smarter, more efficient audit processes
• Keep our team up to date with the latest rules, tools, and best practices
