About The Position

Stewart & Stevenson is hiring a Dress Out Operator at 10750 Telge Road, Houston, TX 77095. The role performs manual labor tasks that vary depending on the equipment being worked on. Work includes cleaning equipment, working from ladders, and climbing on and off equipment while following safety policies. As the final group to handle equipment before delivery, the team ensures equipment is in good working order and ready for customers. The position works outdoors and in a shop environment, which may not have air conditioning. Employees must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). This description is not exhaustive, and supervisors may assign additional duties and requirements.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED and/or three to seven years of related experience.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Ability to stay organized and follow a systematic approach to tasks.
• Ability to work with initiative and perform tasks to the best of one's ability.
• Ability to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively through spoken language.

• Limited computer skills.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the position, location, and/or customer.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor tasks requiring physical ability and effort, with little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.
• Clean equipment, including working from a ladder or stepladder and climbing on and off equipment.
• Use a checklist to verify all details are complete before releasing equipment.
• Identify deficiencies and report them to the department for resolution.
• Assist other production workers with production activities.
• Perform all work according to quality standards and established safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
