About The Position
The Disability Resource Center is seeking experienced Sign Language Interpreters to interpret on the USU Blanding Campus in Blanding, UT. This is a temporary position for the Fall 2026 (Aug 31 - Dec 18) and Spring 2026 (Jan 11 - May 4) semesters. Monday - Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., not including university holidays.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications State or National Interpreter Certification
Nice To Haves
- 1 - 3 years ASL interpreter experience.
- ASL interpreting experience in a higher educational setting.
- Ability to interact with students, faculty and others in a professional way.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, relevant ethical codes.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to work within a changing schedule.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide ASL interpretation for USU sponsored classes and events.
- Prepare for classes by reviewing course material or other relevant information.
