About The Position

Parsons is seeking a Drainage Engineering Intern to join their Centreville, VA team for the summer of 2027. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with their transportation team on major regional, large-scale engineering projects, providing invaluable experience in transportation infrastructure.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in civil engineering, or related field.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Eager to learn, self-motivated, and flexible.
Excellent organizational and management skills.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Microstation.

Responsibilities

Complete assignments for the development of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and estimates.
Assist with the development of drainage design, including stormwater management, to support new roadway, railroad, and other transportation-related projects.
May perform material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and surveys.
Use design software and CAE/CAD applications to implement project designs.
Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and other Engineers working on the same project.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
