About The Position

The Drain Technician is responsible for meeting with customers to identify and diagnose specific drain/sewer piping concerns, getting the line(s) flowing and advising customers on next steps to include a Camera Technician and a camera main inspection. Drain Technicians produce quality, on-time inspections and clearing installation of plumbing related jobs to meet the requirements of our customer agreement and in accordance with local plumbing codes.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of all sewer systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to assist in evaluating assigned install team personnel on job performance and provide field coaching as necessary.
  • Follows and demonstrates company policies with team members.
  • Diagnostic and analytical skills.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with customers, install team members, dispatch, and management.
  • Demonstrates writing skills with a focus on technical accuracy, writing quality and clarity are also required.
  • Uses, applies and monitors appropriate safety practices and procedures and reports violations to Sewer Supervisor​

Responsibilities

  • Meeting with customers to identify and diagnose specific drain/sewer piping concerns.
  • Getting drain lines flowing.
  • Advising customers on next steps, including the involvement of a Camera Technician for a camera main inspection.
  • Producing quality, on-time inspections and clearing installations of plumbing related jobs.
  • Ensuring work meets customer agreement requirements and complies with local plumbing codes.
  • Ensuring the safety of self, employer vehicles, equipment, and customer homes.
  • Performing drain clearing at customer homes and providing overall assessment of known systems.
  • Providing guidance to homeowners on next steps for permanent repair of sewer lines.
  • Working efficiently and keeping job areas clean and organized.
  • Working closely with Camera Technician, Dispatch, and Sewer Supervisor to provide customer solutions.
  • Properly representing the company in public and demonstrating company ethics.
  • Establishing and maintaining a customer-oriented focus.
  • Communicating politely and effectively with and in front of customers.
  • Working as part of a team with managers and other departments.
  • Participating and attending department meetings.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of sewer systems, repair, and installation using standard tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Demonstrating technical accuracy, writing quality, and clarity in written communication.
  • Using, applying, and monitoring appropriate safety practices and procedures and reporting violations to the Sewer Supervisor.
