About The Position

Join RK Mechanical as a Drain Service Technician and take on challenging commercial and industrial work. The Drain Service Technician position is responsible for performing a wide range of plumbing activities for industrial and commercial clients.

Requirements

  • Performs technical responsibilities under indirect supervision.
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of concepts, techniques and procedures.
  • Coordinates own tasks with a specific range of responsibilities under established procedures.
  • Contributes to a team under general supervision of an experienced professional or manager.
  • Skilled specialist or recent college/university graduate.
  • Role specific skills and experience required.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of previous experience.
  • Requires judgment or initiative in resolving issues and making recommendations.
  • Supervision and guidance of crews.
  • Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.
  • Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.
  • Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
  • Work in all types of weather.
  • Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the MEP services provided by the Services Department meet customer requirements.
  • Perform drain service activities, effective customer communication and diagnoses of all industrial, commercial and residential drain systems.
  • Perform planned maintenance tasks as prescribed.
  • Clean and provide maintenance for all RK Mechanical owned drain service equipment.
  • Technical trouble shooting and diagnostics with minimal supervision when needed.
  • Daily coordination with the Customer Services department.
  • Make a service related decision in a timely manner that is in the best interest of the company.
  • Follow up on callbacks and completion of jobs.
  • Assist in pricing with Account Managers or Service Writer when required.
  • Develop lead referrals resulting from service activities for the Sales Department or Service Writer.
