About The Position

As a Draftsman, you will play a critical role in transforming conceptual designs and engineering ideas into detailed technical drawings and plans that guide the construction and manufacturing processes. Your work will ensure that all designs comply with industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements, facilitating clear communication among architects, engineers, and contractors. You will be responsible for producing precise and accurate drawings using both traditional drafting techniques and advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software. This role demands a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of materials, dimensions, and spatial relationships to create functional and efficient designs. Ultimately, your contributions will be essential in bringing complex projects from the planning stage to successful completion within budget and timeline constraints.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical drafting program or associate degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawing standards, symbols, and conventions.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing or construction processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce precise, error-free drawings.
  • Proficiency in CAD software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in architectural, civil, mechanical, or electrical drafting environments.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software such as Revit.
  • Certification from recognized professional bodies such as the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed technical drawings and plans based on sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions from architects and engineers.
  • Utilize CAD software to develop, modify, and optimize designs ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to interpret design concepts and incorporate feedback into revised drawings.
  • Review and verify drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to applicable codes and standards.
  • Maintain organized documentation of all drawings and revisions for easy retrieval and reference throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and reports to communicate design intent to clients and stakeholders.
  • Support the engineering and construction teams by providing clarifications and technical details as needed during project execution.
