Drafting Structural Specialist
About The Position
Tilson Homes is seeking an experienced Architectural Draftsperson, also referred to as a Drafting Structural Specialist, to join their team. This role is crucial in helping customers build their dream custom homes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Revit software, capable of updating and modifying residential home plans, and possess a general understanding of residential building codes. The position involves creating and modifying Revit drawings for new home construction, assisting field teams with structural and take-off issues, and contributing to the project team's success. The role also includes testing new software and performing additional duties as assigned to support various company departments.
Requirements
- 4-year related degree and 3+ year's AutoCAD/Revit experience
- 2-year associate degree or completion of a technical trade school in AutoCAD/Revit, drafting or related field and 4+ year's AutoCAD experience
- 7+ year's AutoCAD/Revit experience with no formal degree
- Experienced in Revit software
- Updating and modifying residential home plans
- General knowledge of residential building codes
Responsibilities
- Create and modify Revit drawings for new home construction projects.
- Assist Framing Team Leaders with resolving structural and take-off issues from the field.
- Work with speed, accuracy, and creativity.
- Function as an effective member of a project team.
- Assist in testing new software for departmental use when necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support all departments in the company.
