About The Position

This role involves providing CAD drafting and design support, creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, and offering engineering support. The technician will be responsible for creating, revising, and managing detailed drawings and drawing packages, interpreting various types of engineering drawings, and supporting basic engineering calculations and technical specifications.

Requirements

• Associate degree or 2-year technical degree in CAD/CAM, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, or Manufacturing Technology.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant CAD drafting, design support, manufacturing documentation, or engineering support experience.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software.
• Ability to create, revise, and maintain detailed drawings and drawing packages.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing drawings.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and standard drafting practices.
• Experience updating drawings from redlines, field changes, engineering input, or project documentation.
• Experience converting legacy drawings, sketches, field markups, or other source documentation into accurate, controlled CAD drawings.
• Ability to support basic engineering calculations and prepare or revise technical specifications under engineering direction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general computer-based documentation tools.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and document control discipline.
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to follow through on tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or plant engineering environment.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM or similar drawing vault/document control systems.
• Experience supporting mechanical and/or electrical equipment documentation.
• Familiarity with revision control, drawing release processes, and controlled documentation practices.
• Hands-on understanding of manufacturing equipment, maintenance needs, or field installation details.
• Experience with additive manufacturing or 3D printing.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise, and maintain detailed drawings and drawing packages.
• Interpret mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing drawings.
• Update drawings from redlines, field changes, engineering input, or project documentation.
• Convert legacy drawings, sketches, field markups, or other source documentation into accurate, controlled CAD drawings.
• Support basic engineering calculations and prepare or revise technical specifications under engineering direction.
• Identify and recommend improvements to standard drawing, documentation, and workflow processes.
• Train new employees or team members on established drawing management, CAD, and documentation procedures.
• Work independently and as part of a team, following through on tasks with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate effectively with engineering, maintenance, and operations personnel.
