About The Position

The Undersea Systems Division at Leidos is hiring a Drafting and System Configuration Lead in Lynnwood, Washington. Work covers mechanical parts, electrical cables and connectors, and outline-and-installation drawings for electrical circuit card assemblies. The role also applies configuration management practices to technical models, drawings, and documents, with careful attention to configuration and documentation accuracy.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience with subsea maritime systems or integrated electro-mechanical systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience in solid modeling and drafting using a typical commercial CAD software package.
  • Experience managing CAD files, models, drawings, revisions, dependencies, and engineering document workflows.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Solid Edge and with manipulating solid models and preparing 2-D drawings from models.
  • Some knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and experience with mechanical, electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical parts and assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Manipulate 3-D solid models using commercial-off-the-shelf CAD software and prepare or update drawings for complex electro-mechanical maritime systems.
  • Manage project drawing files and documents so current versions are stored, reviewed, approved, and available to the project team.
  • Interact proactively with project team members to resolve issues promptly and prioritize tasks.
  • Facilitate approval of technical data packages, including drawings, specifications, bills of material, work instructions, and other production-support documentation.
  • Follow configuration management processes for design changes, updates, and additions throughout the product life cycle.
