About The Position

Saber Power Services is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets. Based in Houston, Texas, the company serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad. The Drafter role is suited to someone with basic CAD knowledge who is eager to develop drafting skills and build a career in the high-voltage electrical industry. The Drafter uses computer-aided design software to create accurate technical drawings, plans, and bills of material in support of engineering and project requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically inclined, self-motivated, and committed to producing high-quality work while continuing to learn and grow. The position requires the candidate to be local to Alexandria, Louisiana. Requirements

Basic proficiency in 2D AutoCAD drafting, including drawing scaling and layout.
Willingness to learn new CAD tools, techniques, and advanced drafting responsibilities.
Strong computer skills and technical aptitude.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Highly motivated, self-directed, and eager to learn.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must be local to Alexandria, Louisiana.

Responsibilities

Create shop drawings, erection drawings, plans, and bills of material using CAD software in accordance with project specifications and equipment requirements.
Read and interpret equipment specifications, technical documents, and design details.
Coordinate with engineers and senior designers to understand design intent and resolve questions or discrepancies.
Ensure drawings and documentation comply with company standards, project requirements, and applicable industry guidelines.
Revise drawings as needed and maintain accurate version control throughout the design process.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure drawings and deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews to verify drawing accuracy and completeness.
Prepare and issue drawing submittal packages in accordance with project requirements.
Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date project files and design records.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
