About The Position

Convergint is seeking a full-time Drafter to provide drafting support for system installation drawings, including floor plans, riser diagrams, and details, using AutoCAD. Projects may involve Fire, Security, Building Automation, and/or Healthcare Services and range from small to large in size and complexity. The Drafter may work on larger, more complex projects as needed and as able, and may mentor less-experienced staff. The role is expected to deliver assigned projects effectively within budgeted costs and time schedules and perform other duties as requested or required.

Requirements

Good knowledge or expertise in AutoCAD 2012.
Good knowledge of general AutoCAD commands, including layers, xrefs, dimensioning, and 3D skills.
Ability to read and understand architectural and electrical layouts and diagrams.
Solid knowledge of electrical/electronic theory and components.
Solid technical skills and experience related to fire alarm systems, security systems, and/or building automation systems.
Good computer skills, including exposure to MS Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience.
2–4 years of drafting experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience in one or more of these industries: fire alarm and life safety, security, and/or building automation.
