About The Position

The Electrical BIM Detailer is responsible for BIM design of power systems and/or building systems and system infrastructure. The role supports electrical project delivery through VDC modeling, shop drawing creation, and coordination with Operations and other disciplines. Regular field site visits are required, and the detailer may be stationed at a project site. The position works under the direction of a VDC Coordinator or VDC Manager and follows VDC project workflows and content standards.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Autodesk production software, including Revit, Navisworks, APL, and BIM 360.
• Excellent oral, prioritization, and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving ability, acceptance of responsibility, and a strong work ethic.
• Motivation to complete tasks on time and on budget.
• Must successfully pass a background and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• A degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or field experience is preferred.
• Candidates with 1–2 years of experience in Electrical/Power Systems classes and/or internships are preferred.
• Dedication to learning, expanding knowledge, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Interpret single-line diagrams and electrical drawings.
• Make regular field site visits and potentially be stationed on a project site.
• Work with VDC Coordinators and the VDC Manager to understand installation means and methods.
• Provide Operations teams with consistent, concise communication and service.
• Model electrical systems using VDC, including lighting, gear, and pathways.
• Create shop drawings for the field.
• Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Adhere to VDC project workflow criteria and content standards.
• Use VDC software and tools to coordinate between disciplines.
