About The Position

The Drafter/Junior Engineer plays a critical role in supporting engineering projects by creating detailed technical drawings and plans that serve as the foundation for manufacturing, construction, or product development. This position involves interpreting engineering concepts and specifications to produce accurate and precise drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The role requires close collaboration with senior engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet all technical requirements and industry standards. The Drafter/Junior Engineer contributes to problem-solving efforts by identifying potential design issues early in the development process and suggesting practical solutions. Ultimately, this position ensures that engineering designs are effectively communicated and ready for implementation, contributing to the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.

Requirements

• Associate degree or diploma in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and technical drawing standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and precise drawings.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineers and project stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with 3D modeling software and familiarity with industry-specific design standards.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and construction methods relevant to the industry.
• Prior internship or work experience in an engineering or drafting role.
• Certification from recognized professional organizations such as the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA).

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed technical drawings and schematics using CAD software based on engineering specifications and project requirements.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project teams to understand design intent and incorporate feedback into drawings.
• Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Assist in preparing documentation and reports related to design changes, project progress, and technical specifications.
• Support the engineering team by conducting preliminary calculations, material takeoffs, and other technical tasks as needed.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation to ensure traceability and version control.
• Participate in project meetings to provide updates on drafting progress and address any design-related questions or concerns.
