About The Position

Paragon Store Fixtures is seeking a dedicated Drafter to join our engineering team in Big Lake, MN. This is a high-growth, full-time, on-site position where you will work directly under the mentorship of a Senior Designer. The role is intended for a detail-oriented individual proficient in Autodesk Inventor who is eager to master the nuances of custom millwork and production engineering. You will be responsible for translating architectural intent into precise manufacturing drawings, acting as the right hand to our senior design staff.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in Autodesk Inventor.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand complex architectural drawings and specifications.
• A strong willingness to listen, learn, and adapt to established engineering workflows and millwork standards.
• This is an on-site position at our Big Lake, MN facility.
• Associate degree in CAD/Drafting, Wood Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AutoCAD is also highly beneficial.
• Exposure to Woodwork for Inventor (W4I) or similar wood-specific plugins.
• Fundamental understanding of wood species, joinery, and hardware integration.
• Basic knowledge of PDM systems (like Autodesk Vault) for file management.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Autodesk Inventor to create detailed models of custom fixtures, cabinetry, and specialized retail components.
• Review and interpret architectural drawings, ensuring that design intent is accurately captured in production blueprints.
• Work closely with a Senior Designer to absorb best practices, learn company-specific standards, and refine technical drafting skills.
• Produce comprehensive 2D shop drawings, including sections, plan views, and assembly details for use on the production floor.
• Listen to feedback from the manufacturing team and senior staff to make real-time adjustments and improvements to designs.
