BAE Systems is seeking a Mechanical drafter to join our for our Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA) business area. CEMA is focused on next-generation threat detection, countermeasure, and attack solutions to provide customers with full-spectrum electronic warfare capabilities to enhance mission survivability. Basic Job Function: Create 2D detailed and assembly drawings utilizing Creo Parametric from solid models, layouts, and sketches requiring strict adherence to design intent, specified dimensions, tolerances, special notes, as well as both company and customer specifications. Arrange optimum type and number of views to reflect a complete drawing. Incorporate material specifications, heat treating and finishes required into drawings. Generate moderately complex mechanical and electrical diagrammatic drawings. Understand and generate Parts Lists/Bill of Materials (BOMs) as they apply to their associated assemblies leveraging the product data manager (PDM). Include all explanatory notes and related information necessary to clarify drawings and provide for accurate interpretation. Create drawings and lists in accordance with Industry Standards ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.34 and ASME Y14.5. Perform and maintain revision control of documentation/models, Change Order Actions. Perform other related duties as assigned Perform file management using a product data manager system. (DS PLM and PTC Pro/WindChill. Apply annotations to 3D models in support of Model Based Definition activities Competent in the use of Creo Parametric. AutoCAD experience also desirable.

Requirements

  • Requires a vocational high school diploma in the drafting profession or its equivalent, coupled with 2 years of specialized instruction in computer aided drafting and/or directly related experience and/or an Associates – Mechanical Design Technology or similar.
