About The Position

NorthStar Energy Services, a Quanta Services company, is seeking a Drafter I to join our Professional Engineering Consulting team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role supports EPC and engineering design projects for data centers, petrochemical, and oil & gas clients. The Drafter I is responsible for producing high-quality electrical design deliverables from instructions given by project leads. This position works closely with engineers, designers and multidisciplinary design teams to ensure deliverables are produced as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
1+ years of experience as an E&I Drafter supporting industrial, energy, or EPC projects
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment

Responsibilities

Develop and locate electrical and instrumentation (I&E) equipment within a 3D model environment using AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Revit.
Coordinate with project leads to produce site-specific power distribution and control system drawings in accordance with company, client, and industry standards for new or existing facilities.
Interpret PFDs and P&IDs to develop project deliverables that meet design requirements.
Prepare construction-ready drawings including plans, layouts, one-lines, wiring diagrams, and installation details for electrical systems under the guidance of engineers and lead designers.
Size cabinets, panelboards, cable tray, and conduits based on project scope, codes, and vendor data.
