About The Position

The Drafter/Drawing Checker is responsible for drawing and DCN creation, revision and checking to the internal and external customer’s requirements and to industry standards. This role involves creating and revising fully dimensioned Detail Part drawings, Top Assembly drawings and Tooling drawings from rough product designs, ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards. The position also includes creating and modifying 3D models, verifying drawing compliance with customer requirements, company standards, and industry regulations, and examining engineering drawings to detect and mark-up errors for Drafter rework. Additionally, the Drafter/Drawing Checker will provide guidance to Drafters to improve capability, maintain standardization, and minimize errors, and review final drawings prior to release. The role also requires adherence to 5S Standards and all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate of Arts (AA) Degree in drafting or related subject from an accredited college
  • 5 years of mechanical drafting experience
  • Experience with Solidworks modeling and drafting
  • 2 years of experience as a Drawing Checker with training in ANSI Y 14.5M1985 and experience with DOD-1000 and MIL-STD-100
  • Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)

Responsibilities

  • Create and revise fully dimensioned Detail Part drawings, Top Assembly drawings and Tooling drawings from rough product designs while ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards
  • Create and modify 3D models
  • Verify drawings are in compliance with customer requirements, company standards and industry regulations
  • Examine engineering drawings to detect and mark-up errors for Drafter rework
  • Confer with design personnel to resolve drawing and design discrepancies
  • Provide guidance/instructions to the Drafter in order to improve Drafter capability, maintain standardization and minimize errors/omissions
  • Review final drawing prior to release
  • Adhere to 5S Standards
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety
