About The Position

This position is an in-office role located in Midland, TX, and is not remote. The Drafter will transform survey information, initial sketches, and concept designs using Civil3D into construction plans. This includes creating various types of plans such as Existing Conditions, Dimensioned Site Plan, Site Grading & Drainage Plans, Site Utility Plans, Roadway Plan and Profile Drawings, Detailed Street Intersection Designs, Utility Plan and Profile Drawings, and Drainage and Hydraulic Structure Design and Details. The role involves working with engineers to modify plans based on mark-ups and design revisions, coordinating designs with Architects and other engineering consultants, and revising plans according to client, manager, or agency reviewer comments. The Drafter will also perform self-reviews of their work for completeness and accuracy before submitting to a manager, work closely with the project manager to determine if scope of work/budgets need revision, perform non-routine and complex assignments with minimal supervision, and assist in organizing, creating, and maintaining all CAD or CAD-related files for clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in Civil3D including creating surfaces, road profiles, grading, earthwork computation, pipe networks and profiles.
  • Land development industry experience strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree or equivalent Certificate for AutoCAD/Civil3D preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform self-review of performed work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting to manager.
  • Work closely with project manager to determine if scope of work/budgets need to be revised.
  • Perform non-routine and complex assignments from verbal instructions under minimum supervision.
  • Assist in organizing, creating, and maintaining all CAD or CAD related files for clients.
