About The Position
The Town of Hopkinton is seeking a Sewer Technician to join our Department of Public Works Water & Sewer team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, working outdoors, and being part of a team that provides an essential service to the community. Our Sewer Technician helps keep Hopkinton's wastewater system running safely and reliably through inspection, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and emergency response.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three years of experience in wastewater, water, public works, construction, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2B Hydraulics License or above.
- Class B CDL.
- Grade 1 Wastewater Operator License (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with wastewater systems is valuable.
- Relevant skills can come from public works, construction, utilities, equipment operation, and other hands-on environments.
- A Grade 1 Water Distribution License.
- A Water Treatment License.
Responsibilities
- Inspection, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and emergency response for the wastewater system.
- Responds to emergency calls during and after normal business hours.
- Available for On-Call Rotation for after-hour emergencies and weekend station checks.
