About The Position

This is a seasonal position, offering winters off for personal activities while benefits continue year-round. The role involves opening and preparing sites for aggregate extraction and stockpiling, and then restoring the site after operations are completed. The typical schedule is Monday - Friday with one Saturday per month.

Requirements

  • Equipment maintenance and operation.
  • Driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
  • Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on bulldozer.
  • Safely and properly operate bulldozer.
  • Construct drain field and ditches as needed.
  • Prepare site for aggregate mining and stockpile millings and other aggregate products for the plants.
  • Recover submerged aggregate.
  • Cover fabric on jobsites.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient pile by pushing up millings.
  • Collaborate with truck drivers to ensure efficiency and safety as millings are stockpiled.
  • Maintain strong customer relations with managers, supervisors, pit owners, co-workers and other customers.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
