About The Position

The McNay Art Museum, the first museum of modern and contemporary art founded in Texas, is offering a fellowship in the department of Curatorial Affairs beginning in the fall of 2026. The goal of the fellowship is to provide working experience for individuals interested in embarking on a museum career. The successful candidate will work directly with the McNay’s Curator of Latinx Art. The Douglass fellow’s primary responsibility is to assist the Curator by providing organizational support and conducting research toward a major McNay exhibition tentatively scheduled for 2027. Additional duties may include managing correspondence, researching incoming acquisitions, preparing acquisition reports, and other departmental duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's degree in art history, art criticism, museum studies, or a related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Research skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Latin American art.
