About The Position

Morgan Smith Industries, LLC is seeking a dependable and safety-focused DOT Driver in Columbia, Kentucky. The driver will transport materials and finished products to customers, job sites, and other designated locations while maintaining safety, professionalism, and customer service. The position is part-time, with no overnight travel and drivers returning home daily. Hours vary from 5 to 32 hours per week depending on business needs, with no guaranteed weekly hours. Compensation is based on experience.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Dependable attendance and excellent work ethic.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Ability to navigate delivery routes and job sites safely.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, load and unload materials, and stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
Ability to safely secure and handle materials during transport.

Nice To Haves

DOT driving experience.
Experience operating box trucks, delivery vehicles, or towing trailers.
Experience in transportation, delivery services, manufacturing, construction, warehouse operations, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a 24-foot box truck to transport products and materials.
Safely pull and maneuver a trailer behind a cargo van when required.
Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in accordance with DOT and company safety requirements.
Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections.
Ensure deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule.
Assist with loading, unloading, and handling products to prevent damage during transport.
Maintain delivery documentation and required driving records.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and team members.
Represent Morgan Smith Industries professionally during deliveries and customer interactions.
Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
